Science Fair Projects For Kids On Soap
Cleaning Up Can be Fun: A Science Fair Project to Prove That
For a lot of science fair projects for kids, you are going to answer questions that may not seem important in everyday life. You may do a science fair project and never really learn anything important from it, not be interested in the results and therefore, doing the project is going to be difficult. If you aren’t interested in a project, it isn’t going to be fun.
This science fair project can be fun for students in grade one through three, but would also be appropriate for students who are older as well. In this science fair project, you are going to try to scientifically answer the question: which soap is better, liquid or bar? This may not seem like something that you can prove easily, but once you get the results, you should have an answer to the question.
The first step of any science experiment is to write down what you think the answer is going to be. This is called the hypothesis. Your hypothesis may end up being right, but it may also end up being wrong. When you write down your hypothesis, you may also want to write down why you think it will be better at cleaning your hands. For example, you may think that liquid soap will work better because it is more expensive and it is wetter, which will make your hands lather better. You may write down that bar soap is better, because it isn’t watered down so much – it is concentrated soap. For help with the proper scientific method to use in this experiment, you may want to have a look at "Super Science Fair Projects."
The materials that you need for the experiment are simple: one bottle of liquid soap, one bar of soap, some markers, a ruler and a stop watch. You may want to have a camera to photograph your results for further proof, but that is not essential.
The first step is to mark your hands with a marker. When doing this test, make sure that both times your hands are marked the same. If you need to, use the ruler to make a line about 5 cm long, you can easily do this. Next you are going to set your stopwatch’s alarm to go off after 30 seconds. Start the stopwatch and start washing with the bar soap. After thirty seconds, stop washing and look at the results (if you have a camera, now is the time to take a picture). Write down how much of the marker you were able to get off of your hands. If you want, you can draw a picture that diagrams your results. Repeat the same process with the liquid soap, making sure to write down the results just as carefully.
So, what did you find out? Which soap worked better? With any science fair project, the more people that you have do the project, the better it will turn out. You may want to ask your friends, family and classmates to help you out with this science fair project.
As Science Fair Projects For Kids need to be done correctly using the proper scientific method, I strongly recommend that you get one of the excellent e-books I recommend, and make sure you do the best Science Fair Project possible! Browse them and decide wich one suits your needs the best. Personally I think "101 Easy Science Projects" are great because it has projects suitable for all the grades. On the other hand if your project is due shortly, you may want to consider "24 Hours Science Projects." Then again, "Science Fair Projects Made Easy" and "Super Science Fair Projects" teaches you all the scientific methods and both have lots of help to ensure you do the best project possibe, so, have a look, I know you'll not be dissappointed.
